Castle

A rather simple fantasy art image which became painstakingly long just to add extra life into it.
I tried everything from lighting to lightning and ended up scraping everything and using rain which for a change looks quiet real.

Game On Vol.2

Finally a picture i can feel proud of. It took some time to come but it CAME.
Had to go through a lot of reading for this. Many different techniques (curves, levels, fx) , interviews on established graphic designers, etc etc. But it all paid off. I really don't care what people think of it cause i love it.
Already my new wallpaper.

Sep 20 , 2009 (Update)

Feels lame now. Reading all this. the "pain", "different techniques" etc
Anyway, here's the improved version.

Annihilation

See here's the problem with graphic designing. You CANNOT take a break. You don't have to work on something new everyday but you have to keep in touch with your tools or you will loose control. This is exactly what happened. Download one of those addictive NFS games and you'll forget you ever were a designer.
But anyway, this was a much needed come back. I wont this as a big victory but a good step forward. I'm also planning to introduce the wallpaper REQ section where you leave a link of the picture you want in hi-res and ill upload it.
Waiting for feedbacks.

Art n Craft

Just a new form of grunge i experimented with. Didn't turn out that well, but anyways was a good experience.
Im goin to try out something very special for the next picture.....
Expect something radical. :D

Vengence

Phew.....this has been the result of extreme pain and patience(something i never have).
I was beginning to think that i'd lost my touch. Was feeling extremely sad. Also i'd downloaded a game so every time i sat on the PC to make a picture - if i wasn't getting any further i would leave it and start the game.
Finally i managed to break that unsuccessful time without deleting my game(yah, it did come to my mind as a remedy :D)
By the way if you're not into movies it's Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction.

Grunge Composition

With this work im shifting style to grunge. This is probably my first attempt at grunge artwork. Not all that bad i guess. Apart from this i've started doing free album covers of the audio artists up at Jamendo.

Babel Sin Fronteras

This pic is supposed to be an cover for an upcoming album by an audio artist up at Jamendo.
Album's titled - Babel Sin Fronteras. Had to do some background check about what all this was about. Some bg info - Supposedly humans wanted to reach the heavens so they all started building this huge tower in Babylonia. God being angered at this reacted by destroying the tower and scattering humans all over the globe. Anyways, haven't received his comments on it but hoping they are positive.

Unveiling Stars

An NGO event held by the interacters at LMB, this is what i could make of it from the inputs i got from them. Nothing very artistic about it but again the theme was such that i had to minimize all effects.

Berbatov

This has by faaaaar been the most PAINFUL picture i've made thanks to a pixelated bloated image of Berbatov. Otherwise nothing so special about this. First time used tools like burn n dodge and i really am happy without them.~! What a pain.

Marijuana

Listening to dark trance this is the only title i could think of for the picture i was going to make.
Anyone looking at this picture listen to at least 30secs of the background music. Then you will understand the theme/atmosphere with which i was working.

A Walk

Yet another painting based on a song - Ghar Se Nikalte Hi by Udit Narayan.
It's actually based on the chorus of the song. The singer talks about how everyday while leaving his house he passes the home of the woman he loves. If i get a good response on this i might go on to make a full album based just on this song - it's memorizing~! Hear it~!

Jhonka Hawa Ka - A Sudden Gust

After a very very very long time i've got back to the kind of work i like. Painting~! It may not be my best but the emotions attached to it are genuine. Its based on a song sung by Shri Hariharan titled "Jhonka Hawa Ka" or "A Sudden Gust" Describing the beauty of a woman's hair blowing in the wind. The singer say that even today hair must be blowing in the wind. Hence the vintage look.

Jazz 5x3 Converted

Realizing that the normal 4:3 canvas i use to make pictures that can also be used as wallpapers wont work as Fest passes , i decided to convert some of my old work into the appropriate size with some minor changes/enhancements. This is my first with that.

Karythmics - A Different Approach

After making designs for many different events in fests i suddenly realized that they were supposed to have a backside too. DAMN!!!....So then i started working. Goin back to each design and making its reverse side. I got really irritated making the reverse side of a design since it was a little weird(bt people liked it so who cares~!) So decided to make the front side again from scratch with a different and simple approach. And Volla~! Simple yet eyecatching. Im sure this will look great with a deep matt finish.

Contemporary Jazz

I fell in love with this the moment i saw it full screen on a 32" LCD TV.
I got this new TV just 2 days back and wanted to test it with all the possible systems i could so i ended up connecting my pc to. It felt nice to work on though a little difficult to read the lines. And so i started working with a canvas size specially for wide-screen LCD TVs and i ultimately made this and "fell in love" with it the moment i saw it full screen. I could literally feel the screen vibrate with the dynamic colours. I don't care wheather others like it or not coz this 1's for me... :-)

Karhythmics(Reloaded)

Exactly 1 week after returning to my form, I'm back again with another work dedicated to work as a pass/poster for a western dance event. Earlier it had no detailing except for the lighting effect , later i decided to add a powerful 'eye breaker' , and came-up with this effect. Still i think the pale ground lacks something and is upsetting the balance. Please suggest/comment.

Karma Jazz

This has probably been my most important work yet~!.... Let me explain why.
After doing "DJ Tiesto" I was very excited in doing my next work - a cover for a western music event. Ideas came in but i could never manage to get it on the canvas properly. I would spend hours n hours on one canvas, and then scrap it. I did this a couple of times and then gave up the idea. Thought of browsing the web for some nice artwork.
I saw something inspiring and did a similar work when i realized that i could club it with my original idea~! And presto the work was taking form in no time. What makes this the most important work is the fact that i'm hoping to get good compliments from this as a moral booster coz i was really shattered when i couldn't make art at the previous attempts. I hope i haven't lost whatever little creative touch i had.

DJ Tiesto

And finally coming to my latest work, DJ Tiesto. I wanted to make something that is in craze and is seen everywhere, so what better to make than a kind of poster. The woofer has also been changed since there were some designing flaws.

Parkour

Based on the American art of efficient movement 'Parkour'. This is a rather snazzy funky look work also trying to show a slow-mo effect in the jump.

It's My Ride

A change of theme from the usual compositions that i have done. The posts from here onwards are very recent and have more of a contemporary theme/design/feel to it.

Unconventional

After my last painting, people started commenting that i'm sticking onto one style and should try something different. So here s my first "Unconventional" work . At the end i realized that i had put too much into one canvas and that 'something different' meant a change of subject to the kind they would like to see. Something more contemporary. These are reflected in my next paintings.

Dangerous - by Akon

Like i've said before, we need inputs from our surrounding to produce some good work, music is a form of input which affects me a lot. Hence i decided to use a different style for making this picture.

Based on the song "Dangerous" by Akon

Broken Dreams

Broken Dreams

Nothing in the world it seems
Shatters like a broken dream
It is the ache behind the mean
Of shadows silent and unseen

And in this fortress dream of sorrow
Exist no dawn and no tomorrow
Just hours that cut you as they pass
Like little shards of broken glass

This work is based on the poem by Lisa G Leming

Darker Side Of Emotions

During the course of our life we encounter many different kinds of situations. Some give us joy some give pain. And there are some that tend to destroy us completely. This work was done to portray such a kind of situation that i encountered. Thankfully i overcame it in a short span of time but the important part was to preserve those emotions and use it in my painting. The result you can see in the picture above.

Regret

This work of art was a direct result of a small but effective speech given to me by sir. Thing is - i used to go to him and wail away my time there - though i really enjoyed it - and one day he decided that it's time i understood the value of time. So he called me outside and gave me a thrashing and at the end of it made me realize - "nothing in this world is your but time" .

Just prior to this we were discussing about his paintings and the subjects he has touched upon, and we came to the subject of time. He said it is too abstract for portrayal so i decided to give it a shot. Hence it was a combination of these to events that gave me matter to work upon. Though in the end i couldn't portray time individually and had to take help of regret I:) :D ...

One of the most important things for me is to get some input from my surrounding. Input as in something to think about, something i can work upon. Sir always gave inputs. Another driving force in my artwork is music. It so deeply affects me that i can almost loose interest midway in the work I'm doing if the music is of another type of genre~!

Remembrance

This is my first real digital composition in its truest sense which actually got a lot of good comments from people.

It is portrayal of a person's grey life and how certain thoughts add a splash of colour into it. For me it was remembering my loved ones who were a little distant at that moment.

To create art there is always need of "feeling" , lots of it , bubbling out. When you get to this stage you need to release out this emotion in some form of the other. Visual art is the medium I've always enjoyed using.

Some Early Works

Did this work when i had just started out with my digital compositions.

I've put all this into one post because it wasn't very significant and there isn't much feeling involved in either of them.

The next pic onwards ill put each in a separate post with a small insight as to what made make that picture.

Also the pictures i upload here are in low quality but I wouldn't mind giving the HQ format. Just leave a comment below, and ill catch up with you in a while.

Please leave comments if you like m work.
